Took these whilst going for a late afternoon drive today..
I have no idea of how to shoot sunsets :(, so if someone could give me some pointers, or direct me to some websites, I'd very much appreciate it!:D

Thanks for that :)
But it was more luck than anything else..I have no ideas of which settings I should use and how to reduce noise...Oh well, practice, practice and more practice I guess!

If you have a tripod, use it and go for ISO 100 to minimise noise. I would also recommend a 3 or 4 stop GND filter if you want to retain color in the foreground.

Thanks for the tips! I guess a decent tripod and some filters are now on my ever expanding shopping list ..What shutter speed do you recommend?

If you have moving objects in your shot (birds, trees/grass blowing in the wind, people etc) then your shutter speed should be fast enough to avoid motion blur, so it depends how much movement there is.

If you have water in your shots, then a slower shutter will give you silky water (which apparently some people find cliche and a fad, but I like). Anything over 1 second should work well. If you want a slower shutter speed but the light is too bright, then consider a 3-stop solid ND filter (or stronger, I have a B+W 10-stop one which allows really long exposure times).

For sunrises and sunsets, I generally start with AV mode, f/11, ISO 100, 4-stop GND filter and vary it from there. If I want to retain color in the foreground but the GND filter isn't suitable (uneven overlap between foreground and background) then I'll take bracketed exposures instead and manually blend them in PP.

One I took on the fourth of July (tonight) in South Texas. It had rained most of the day, but cleared up just in time for all the festivities.

C&C welcome.

Ok here are my two contributions. I love the first, and the second was taken just a few minutes prior to the first.
