What's preferred for a 20" beauty dish, white or silver? Doing portrait work BTW.

Thanks

Both have its uses, just like a shoot through / reflective umbrella.

Ok, but if you had to get one or the other, which would it be?

Seems to be a matter of personal preference. Someone asked the same question yesterday, https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1016890.

Also the following thread has a few examples so you can see if one or the other appeals to you. Let's See Your One Light Beauty Dish Portraits - Indoor & Outdoor

I got a silver ABHOBD. It was too hot for me so I got some white adhesive vinyl sheets (like they use to mod autos) and turned it white. However, I recently got a second 16" BD from this ebay seller and am really digging the silver finish on this one. So... I prefer BOTH silver and white ;)
