It shipped on 4-15 and I received it last Monday 4-18 by FedEx. It all seems to be very well made. It's my first carbon fiber pod and first BH and the only thing I can compare it to is my 30 year old Slik U212. I'm very impressed with the LX-3. All the movements are well damped and it takes very little turning pressure to securely lock the ball, even with my gripped 60D with Tamron 70-300 VC. The legs are very sturdy for their diameter. The section diameters are as follows: Largest-24.9mm or .982". Next-21.7mm or .856". Next-18.7mm or .737". Smallest-15.7mm or .622". The flip locks are some sort of plastic and seem a little flimsy but they lock firmly without any slippage. The legs do not rotate-locked or unlocked. With the monopod leg removed, it makes an extremely light and tall monopod-56 1/2" without head. It took me about 90 seconds to convert it to a monopod. All this comes in a nicely made nylon padded case with an inside zipper pocket, carry handle and shoulder strap (for case). The ballhead comes covered with a drawstring bag. Overall I'm very pleased with this combo and as soon as this so called spring takes shape, I plan on trying this baby out-outside. Only time will tell how this thing holds up.

Anyone have experience to compare the various HB setups to a Feisol/Photoclam kit? HB is quite a bit cheaper, and seems to be more deluxe in terms of features on the legs. 5Dc - Sigmalux - Canon 100mm F2

Yesterday I made an offer on a HB C2540 carbon fiber tripod with a LX-3 head. The listing was a Buy it Now or Best Offer for $225. I offered $190. In 16 hours they apologetically countered at $200. Needless to say, I accepted. Now I'll anxiously wait to see how long it takes to get here. If this tripod/head combo lives up to the hype, that's a fantastic price for a carbon fiber tripod with a quality ballhead. I'll give a review once I receive it. http://cgi.ebay.com …415647dab5#ht_18437wt_912 I ordered one of these this morning. Can't wait to get it! It got shipped on Thursday and was at customs for only half a day on Saturday. Today I received a note on my door when I got home saying they missed me. Sadly, I'm not gonna be able to pick it up till tomorrow morning. Juss wanted to let someone the timeframe incase they are wondering about ordering something internationally. Thanks again themadman!
