Loctite Blue and Markins ballhead bolt installation questions

So I have 3 components, the Markins Q10, RRS Clamp, and the 3/8" bolt.

THe Markins Q10 came with a 3/8" bolt with one end having a hole and the other not.

1. Which end of the 3/8" bolt goes into the ballhead, the end with the hole or the end without?
2. How much should you screw in the bolt into the RRS clamp?
3. How far should you screw in the clamp/bolt into the ballhead? All the way, and how much loctite should you use?

I don't have those, but...

1. You want to orient the bolt with the hole on the outside, so you can put a hex/allen wrench in it to screw it into the ball stem.

2. I'd try to have the bolt just a hair under the surface of the clamp. That way it's secure, but nothing can gets scratched.

3. Screw it all the way in. With Loctite, you generally just squeeze a line down the length of the screw. You don't need to coat the entire screw since it will distribute itself a bit. Also it'd make it messier and a bit harder to remove.

Do a dry fit to make sure there are no clearance issues before applying any Loctite.

is removing loctite possible ? I was thinking of using some on a ballhead screw to super clamp, but i'm worried i wouldn't ever be able to remove it....

What kind of "hole" is in what you are referring to as a "bolt"? Is the hole hexagonal shaped (the RRS stud is, not sure what Markins has going for theirs)? Is it a "stud" or a "bolt"?

If the hole is not hex shaped to accept an allen wrench, then put that end into the ball. Do a dry fit to make sure everything fits...you don't want the top of the stud to sit "proud" of the RRS clamp. Apply blue Loctite to the stud, then thread it into the clamp, making sure that the top of the stud doesn't extend beyond the surface of the clamp. Once that dries, apply a bit more Loctite to the stud and thread the assembly into the ball.
