Can anyone from the Orange County area check and see if this is sold? He listed in e-bay and the auction ended with a lower price then he expected, so he said he sold it locally to the winning bidder.

Shouldn't matter--you can find better deals right here on this site. That's MORE than the going rate used. The extras are mostly junk--worth $50, only if they have value to you. I'd actually throw out most of those extras.

I'm confused.

How come you just don't email him and ask?

If he said he sold it why would you wonder if he still has it?

I was chating with the seller via e-mail while I was thinking about bidding on his item. He was very prompt in providing the information I need at that time. So once I was happy with his information, I started get into the bidding. Needless to say, I won the auction. I then sent him a message asking for additional cost to expidite the shipping...he did not respond for two days..then he said he sold it locally.

I think he said he sold it in CL because he didn't want to ship it to me due to the winning bid being $250 below his asking price of $ $1200 in CL. He changed to $1150 in CL since.

He also had a negative feedback from another buyer that said he decided to cancel the transaction after the bid was over...see a pattern?

Anyway, I got a another one now for about the same price.

IF you were the high bidder on eBay then report him and copy eBay all of the email correspondence. Pople like that should not be allowed to sell on eBay.

If it was a reserve item, he doesn't have to sell it if the final bid was less than the reserve price. If it was no reserve, then absolutely leave him negative feedback and report him to eBay.

If there were a reserve, there wouldn't have been a winner. And the only way it could be sold would be through a Second Chance Offer or a relist.

Please report this person to ebay, this a a gross vioilation of their rules and if true, his account should be suspended at the least.

Ebay doesn't really care. They don't go after deadbeat bidders, so I can't imagine they'd give a sock about deadbeat sellers.

Unfortunately, you are probably right.

There was no reserve in the auction. He was very prompt in his responses during the end of the auction, but he totally did not respond after that except to tell me that he sold it through CL and provided the listing to me. I planned on reporting him to e-bay.

Did the auction actually run to completion, and he refused to sell?

Or, did he take the auction down before completion, and you were the high bidder at that time?

If the auction completed and you were declared the winner, you should definitely report him!

If he pulled it prior to completion because it wasn't going well for him ... that is really bad form, but I don't think there is anything they can do to him.

In that case, take it to eBay. He is obligated to sell it to you. They won't make him. However, they might close his acocunt.
