Well, 60D owners?
I'm talking about at the hinge. It's been long enough that I'd expect any breakages to have occurred by now.
edit: Ah yes, by the way. If yours has broken, please post the details here.

The articulating swivel LCD screen on my Canon S5 still works - after four years! 6 hours is not that long, is it?

I only swivel it around when i pack it away. Nice to know its protected against scratches but other than that i see no use for it unless im making self portraits in live view mode.. I had the Powershot SX10 for a year and a half, it too has the articulating screen and is obviously more cheaply made than anything in the EOS line and it took a LOT of abuse yet is still in perfect order. Canon seems to have put a lot of work into making these things durable. 60D ~ 85mm 1.8 ~ 50mm 2.5 Macro ~ Sigma 70-300 APO ~ EF-S 18-55mm

Which is never ![]() I think it depends on what kind of photography you're doing as to whether or not it's useful. I used mine just yesterday to photograph blossoms on a peach tree, I could hold the camera over my head to see some of the nicer blooms and without the articulating screen I would have had to point and guess, or get a ladder, lol. It's been good for getting at odd angles that you might not want to get your physical being into. 60D ~ 85mm 1.8 ~ 50mm 2.5 Macro ~ Sigma 70-300 APO ~ EF-S 18-55mm

No play whatsoever. I've used it a few times to crouch real low to the ground and get some different perspectives in some landscape shots. Without the articulating screen, I can't see that possible without physically laying down with your ear to the ground to try and frame the shot. I can see it coming in handy a lot more than I would have originally thought, and the screen protection is a great bonus when you're not using it. 60D | EF-S 18-135 | Slik Pro 580DX

juscuz Senior Member More info | I had an S2 IS for years that never had a problem with the hinges up until it was stolen last year. Now a G12, I do not anticipate any issues with it either.

I havent had any problems with the swivel (knock on wood). It seems well designed and feels sturdy. I personally dont feel like it will break from normal usage.
