I didn't think it'd be this hard, but whenever I try to mount the camera to by the tripod mount thing, part of the metal from the flash bracket obstructs the camera's rotation, stopping it from mounting...Here are two pics:

Please help. :c

Edit: I think I figured it out!

The Custom Brackets unit that I have has a captive screw that I just align with the tripod socket and turn the screw until tight. So you are saying that the screw does not turn and you have to turn the camera? That really does not sound right. What if the thread gets tight and the camera is not aligned with the bracket correctly? If this is how it is, I would return this bracket and get something else.

Yeah, you want to turn the screw, not the camera. The screw may have backed out a little. When I store my plates with captive screws, I back them out a bit so they don't just slide around and scratch things.

You still want to use your left hand to support everything.

Mounting it tripod style??
So you're saying that You turn the camera until it sits tight? The tripod should have the same, a screw that you turn until it gets tight enough, not the other way around..

My "cheap" pro-setup;
