Somebody told me about a Canon EF S 10-22 lens he purchased at Walmart, and that he got a good deal. I have no idea if the deal he got was that good, but decided to post the link at Walmart for a few Canon lenses they sell:

This one shows the 16-35L cheaper at Walmart, Best Buy, and Sears cheaper than the rest:

The Sears website:

Yeah, Walmart has been offering Canon and other photography makers' goods for some time.
Depending on your area and the local Walmart to you, they even offer some of the better
Canon and Nikon gear at discount prices.

Someone posted about a US $500 deal on a Rebel T1i or T2i kit, with 18-55 IS lens,
a few months ago. If the same deal had been happening in my area, I would have bought
2 or 3 of those kits, and sold the others for a profit, keeping one for myself.
Turns out that it was a California- or Nevada-only deal, not offered at my local WallyWorld stores.

They had the 430 ex ii for 227.00 for while not long ago. Free shipping to your local store and all. Wish I had got a couple then, did'nt know it was a special at the time.

5D MK II gripped, 24-70 L, 70-200 F4 L, 50D gripped, "nifty fifty", 580 EX II, Three (3) 430 EX II's and a bunch of other stuff.........and one day I'm going to learn how to use all of it....I just have to figure out how to turn it on first!

One thing to be aware of with Walmart. The price on their website is not neccessarily the price you will get if you go into the store. And the price at one store may not be the price at another store. I ran into this a few months ago when I saw a lens on their website that I was interested in purchasing. Looked up what stores near me had it in stock and just went into the store so I could get it "same day". It was about 30.00 more (low end lens, 30.00 was more than 10% of the total cost) on the shelf at the store. I double checked the website price, then asked the sales person why the difference and if I could get it at the web price. He said "just because" and "no". To get the lens at the web price I would have had to order it online and have it sent to the store to be picked up. Seems stupid to me, considering they had lens sitting right there, why have something sent to the store that they already have in stock? I told him so, and left, without the lens. Bought it from Adorama instead. Later I went back to the Walmart website and they did mention somewhere in tiny print that prices in the stores may vary, so I'm sure I"m not the first person to discover this and complain.

100mm macro L at $880 + tax is a pretty good deal. That's pretty closed to used price on this forum.

Yup ... I bought mine from Walmart a couple of months ago at the same price as it was the cheapest online deal I could find

With the state of our economy, any good deal is welcomed. That's why I enjoy visiting this forum :)

as much as i hate buying from walmart, it saves me $100 from buying from elsewhere online and $200 from buying locally.

Just Say No to Wal-Mart, especially for things like camera gear where a mass retailer should not be given any leverage that potentially impacts the products that are brought to market.

Well, it's hard to say no if it's a good deal, specially these days of a bad economy. And it does not matter if the good deal is from Walmart, Sears, B&H, Adorama, Amazon, etc.

Ya, who cares where it's from as long as you get it, cheap and has good warranty :)
