My first stolen photo - I feel so proud :)

Tineye is a pretty darn good tool, first I have heard about it.
I use to just google search my images.

My first one to ever be taken (3 times by the same guy) was a random pic of my daughter.
I contacted the Admin to the site the user was posting on 3 times and each time the member was banned and the photo removed but he would come back with a slightly different name and post again.

Some people just dont learn.

My latest one was an HDR of my Mustang in a parking garage.
An automotive detail shop used the photo on their business car.

I found this thread after looking for details regarding Tineye, which I started using on my Flickr & Facebook images yesterday.

To my surprise I am in the same position as the OP, and I've found 2 of what appear to be images taken from my Flickr & Facebook on a blog site.

Now, I'm in no way a pro-photographer & the images being used are from our Florida holiday in 2010 (they're of a Discovery launch) but what's really peeing me off is the blogger has put them as their copyright!!

My question is how accurate is Tineye? Could the images be mine or is just a coincidence? If they are mine any suggestions as to what to do?

It's up to you to figure out if it's your photo or not, normally you can tell. Unless it is a subject that is so common, then perhaps you can't. For example: http://www.google.com …ei=rF6RT4zqF_GN​6QG815m2BA


Also, FYI.. google has a much better service than tineye: using the same link, hit the little camera icon on the right side of the 'search text field' and then enter the URL of your shot. If it's out there, google will find it.

TinEye and Google show different results, at least for me. In fact, none of the results in TinEye are found by Google.

Your best bet is to use both in conjunction, but that probably goes without saying.

I have the exact opposite situation. The only result I have every had with Tineye is one old, out of date website that doers not exist anymore.

When searching for copies of images from my flickr site, TineEye doesn't even find the pictures I have posted here, google does.

As I check the images I've posted online over the years, I find that TinEye and Google each find matches that the other misses. Curiously, they rarely both find the same match. Google is much more proactive in searching for web content, of course, often finding images I post on POTN within an hour of their first being posted.
