I think these turned out pretty decent considering the gym was super small and very poorly lit. I would love to get some C&C. Please no bashing on the sport though... Thanks for looking!

Wow-looks pretty intense for badminton. Guess it depends on how competitive you are. I love the shots!

Thanks for looking and leaving a kind note Karen. Yes, badminton is actually very intense... Did you know badminton is the fastest racquet sport in the world with shuttles reaching speeds of up to 332 km/h (206 mph) (faster than the speed of the Eurostar train)? ;)

I really like #4

Let anyone say what they want...but until they pick up a raquet and get out there and try to play and see just how difficult and intense it can be, they can shut it.

They look pretty sharp for a poorly lit hall and capturing some good action.
Too bad with all the clutter and participants in the background.Maybe tell everyone to move out of the frame next time!;)

Thanks VegasBoz! Sounds like you're a player too. Thanks for the support!

Thank you for your comments! Yes, the background is definitely crowded and nasty, as this was a very small gym (only a size of one basketball court, which was divided into 3 badminton courts). I really wanted to use my 200 f2, but the FL was just too long. I ended up using the 135L most of the time. :D

The 135L is what I could of used today. I play competitive badminton in an old badminton hall with somewhat dim lighting.Tried a few today with my 24-70 up close and bumped up the iso to 6400 for 1/200. A pre focused 85L at 1.2 would be perfect but with little dof.

Wow, 6400 for 1/200? I would say we would need at least 1/500 to stop a little bit of action (I prefer 1/640 or higher). I realized f2.8 is just too slow for low light indoor sports... 85L at 1.2 would definitely be so right for such low lit gyms, but I too agree it would be too little dof. When I used 85L, I just used f1.8 instead.

Nope, not a player. I respect everyone's passion to play a sport that they choose and those that take the time to perfect their ability in said sport.
