Yes, I was seriously considering the SX230 also, then the NX100 was suddenly on sale for a similar price. I decided it was time to go big (sensor). However, the SX230 system size is really nice.

All i can say is that this camera the s230 HS is SENSATIONAL! almost as good as my DSLR! here are the results fantastic camera!!! I cannot see any photos. There are large white placeholders for a photo with a message saying it is not available, but no photo. Clicking on the Flickr image link says it's private.

Only talked here to help someone who might be checking out news on the Canon and be interested in the Nikon too. With my camera you can get surprising results if you trust the scene modes and use them well. However, I'm stubborn and still think like I did when I used my Leica for film years ago.
