These at best have had a lukewarm reception on another Forum at small sizes and am hoping they look better at this proper size.
I was pleased with them personally and did try for variation and plenty of gamble shots ,of which many were binned, but a couple came out just as I wanted.

Hi Ronny,
No I did not ,as 3 and 5 were shot with Tokina 12-24 which does not take my polariser, but it is something I often use on my 70-200.
Thanks for the input.

Hi mate, these definitely look better at bigger sizes; but I still don't think they're up to your usual high standards, #2 & #3 are a bit too loose IMO and whilst I do like #5, I prefer the front of the car sharp rather than the back (personal preference!)

#1 is the pick of the set for me, razor sharp and the light is superb.

ps. No action for a while for me now, broke a bone in my foot yesterday. Up to my knee in plaster!

Nice stuff! #3 is a fun and not typical motorsports shot. I like the blend of scenery and the car off the ground. :)

Cheers Gaz,I agree re focus, but it would have been bang on with front focus,so was a nearly shot.I liked the composition.

Yes,was my favourite because it is slightly different and does show the rally and the terrain. Was also my entry in a Rally Photo comp this month.

Nice shots. I like #1 and #2 the best. I like the idea in #3 and #5, but I think they need to be a bit sharper for my liking (probably would benefit from a higher shutter speed).

It took me a while to figure out #2. It looks like the car is going the wrong way, but I'm guessing the stage was used both ways and the arrows are set up for both directions (I don't think we're allowed to do that here in NZ - old arrows need to be removed and new ones put up if the stage is reversed).

Nice varied set Chris. I do like the wider shots showing more of the location. (PS I might just take you up on your kind offer one of these days.)

Cheers Rob,Glad you like.
I looked hard through my shots for that to try and find something a bit different for my comp entry, shots like 1 would have been good, but it has all been done before.

I agree re shutter speeds, but 1 and 2 were easy shots ,and ones I have had before on previous Events ,and although these turned out spot on,3 and 5 were part of a stage run where I gambled on trying to get the isolation and movement and different camera angles showing the wider view with short lens,3 ,I was happy with as car is sharp enough ,but 5 would have been great if focus was at front ,rather than rear,as Rhod says, but panning with short lens and railings as car is doing about 100mph is as they say these days,a "robust challenge",that is the fun. Maybe next time I will nail it ?:)
Spot on with your observation re both ways ,was the morning runs ,before reversing in the aftn.
The Arrows are correct at top of hill as is a triange hairpin before they descend, and they do reverse them in the aftn usually.

I love my wider stuff ,Rich, plenty don't ,but we all have our own styles.
Any time mate, your always welcome to stay and come to an Event.

Great trademark shots Chris, #1 comfortable framing, lighting, focus and sharpness ideal. #2 spot on again, like to see the terrain the events happening in. ( would have told the guy at the top of the hill to bin the hi-viz trousers though :) ). #3 would have preferred the car a bit larger, but I appreciate what you're doing and larger car = less tree and background. #4 is the odd one out in this sequence for me, too much light bouncing around the side of the car and tame background, but the positive from this is the dramatic water splash. #5 really like this one a lot, car is better proportioned than in #3 front/rear focus issue doesn't bother me with this 1 as I think it adds to the speed/movement captured. Enjoyable set and a little different from the usual, thanks for sharing.
