its a bit slow today huh? well... good to know

Nah, it's been plenty fast enough in here today. Everyone just seems to go away when I have nothing to do. Everyone but Roger that is.

My engineering was all math...

Calculus in Calcuslus, Calc in Physics, Calc in my Aerospace classes....

I don't miss those days... :/

I used a slide rule when I went to college, being an EE I took more math subjects than a BS Math student. I used two slide rules one had vector functions.
Laplace transforms and hyperbolic sines were lunch topics.

Well, I keep my notes, I have all my A-level and all my university notes -> they are very useful when you get an assignment to do ;)

Ah, you experienced the only true science :D:)

I have the internet for all my notes

Yeah I know...

I just don't really know where to start.

Always expose to the right as much as possible without blowing out the highlights and it really depends on your lighting situation. For my landscapes, I always bracket or use my filters. My recommendation is to use LV and(spot is the best) meter even if it's handheld. That way you're not guessing your exposure. One thing to note is that the LIVE histogram is approximate and not always accurate. So, always stop down to 1/3 to 2/3rds for the exposure. I promise that you'll nail the exposure everytime. :)

It does contain a lot, but never what you aim to find ;)
-> Book + notes is sometimes best, but it varies.

But for different situations the metering may be fooled. Ever tried photographing a black dog in the snow? The camera can't make heads or tails of it.

I'm not complaining. Just glad I'm not doing that anymore...

I never really minded calculus... it was just more than I would have liked to do :p

I wasn't a very motivated freshman either... so it was even worse

Try a white swan on a near black background -> water ;)

This place is like a trip to the zoo. The monkeys make a lot of incoherent noise.
