Omar, can't you close the previous thread yourself, since you started it? or does a mod have to do it?

Nope the mods have to. I dont have the option to.

I think I'd prefer to stick with PC. I may not be as smart as Steve Jobs but I do like the ability to decide what I want in my machine! :D

Damn nice looking 70-200 MkII btw whoever posted that!

Ok Then, here's some quick and dirty specs derived from Falon NW's configurator:

Chassis: Talon - Standard Black (Mid Tower Case)
Chassis Fan Kit: Standard Fan Pack (Mid Grade of three offered)
Power Supply: 1000 Watt Modular (One level up from their basic)
Motherboard: P8P67 Deluxe
Processor: 2nd Generation Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz
Processor Cooler: Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 (Level 2 of 3 .. 3rd was Liquid Cooling!)
Processor Overclock: No
Memory: 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHZ DDR3
Video Card: Radeon 6870 (1GB)
Sound Card: X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Pro (No More Onboard stealing cycles!)
Networking: On-Board Ethernet
Hard Drive: 1TB - 7200RPM - 6GB/s
Hard Drive 2: 2TB - 7200RPM - 6GB/s
Optical Drive: 24x DVD Writer
Media Reader: Internal Media Reader
64-Bit Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
Office Software: Office Home & Student 2010
Warranty: 3 Year Warranty - Parts and Service

If built by Falcon: Approx $2800...

Fire Away Peeps! I'm game to try rolling my own via NewEgg or retail from Fry's Electronics...

ETA: I have three external 2TB HDs that I'd need to connect and I already have a (to me) nice Dell 24" monitor and Klipsch 5.1 speakers.
I'm running CS5 and LR3.X and I do a wee bit of flight-simming as well from time to time.

Thanks for the info Jay. Give us a day or two. This will give the regulars time to come over to the new thread and help out :D

Do you really want 1Tb for your main drive? Or do you want to go SSD?

How big are SSDs now? Is 8Gb of RAM enough to avoid needing a scratch disk and can SSDs handle the offload from Photoshop if needed?
