If I want to look at beauty I'll take my watch's works over a computer anytime. On that note - there never ever was a desktop at home first computer my mother bought down to the current ones we use - all laptops.I use to hate laptops because you pay more and get less essentially. I recently have gotten to like them more. I have a Macbook and Macbook Pro. The one build I've done with a SSD defrag was already turned off when I went and checked. It was setup for the Raid Arrays and off for the SSD. DetlevCM wrote in post #12103747 OK - I'm on 4GB -> 3GB usable and have zero need for more RAM. Even with 5D MKII RAW images? I have 4gb of ram and could use at least double.

Vista definitely doesn't - but Windows 7 should... Yeah ok, that's what I thought.

In either CameraRAW or Photoshop, although I don't use Photoshop itself that much. I have no need for more RAM. Hmm.. interesting. I just use lightroom and it's a bit slow with the RAW from the 7D.

Does 16gb realistically help? Well... I have been monitoring my RAM usage closely since I added it... I only really eat up a ton of RAM in Premiere... although I haven't tried a 7 or 11 photo HDR in Photomatix... I know that should eat up RAM. Will | WilliamLiuPhotography.com
