The light behind the windows doesn't work for me. Maybe if I could see a moon or light on a pole back there?

Thanks! I was using a snooted, gelled flash back there trying to make it look like a drive-in theatre. However, I'm learning that light virtually disappears when it's in open space. In order for smaller amounts of light to be visible, they must be close to some other object.

Here's my other shot of this scene:

I see. I thought that "God's Drive-In" was the stars.

Thanks man.... this was out south of Abilene actually. It was quite a drive for me (all day getting out there and scouting and then shot for a couple of night hours and then drive back home! - total trip time was about 14 hours. I slept well when I got home, hehehe.

If I ever get down into the Houston area, I'll give you a holler. I'm heading for Big Bend at some point this year, but not sure when. I'd also like to go down towards San Antonio.

I was suppose to do a motorcycle ride to big Ben. Would love to shoot spots down there. Just hit me up.

Love it and love the green lighting in the windows on #1.

I've followed the work of Troy Paiva for a while now. I plan on doing some this summer.

Thank you!

Yes, Troy is pretty much who got me interested in doing night stuff. I've always sort of leaned towards it anyways, but his Lost America stuff just hooked me.

I spent quite a few years figuring out methods and trying to develop my own style. I didn't want to be a Troy-Clone, you know?

Since the 5D2, I'm now able to add a sky element which I think helps differentiate my stuff from a lot of others (at least I hope so). I also strive to find my subjects in real-life settings, not just in junkyards and what not. To me, it gives a bit more realism and of course, makes things much tougher(not only to find, but also to shoot - with an always unknown environment, stray light, security, you name it.)
