I have 2x 4gig, 1x 8gig, 1x 16gig. Use mainly the 4gigs on a regular basis

Yes but if one card fails you have only a partial failure of the total.

But your increasing the probability of a failure....

I use a 16gb card. That holds me for a day of shooting. This conversation takes me back to a few years ago, same arguement but with hard drives and raid arrays. I still dont remember who won that one.

Also these analysis cannot be completed without MTBFs.
