Here are a few shots of my brother's tennis team. I got a little discouraged after a while due to shooting through a fence... When you don't have direct access to a field/court, what are some of your strategies for dealing with that? In any case, I'd appreciate some C&C.

I like the action that you captured but you are right, the backgrounds really detract. Two strategies: 1. Shoot at courts that have low fences on the sides and solid (or nearly solid) backdrops. 2. Use longer focal length lenses to shoot really tight and blur the background as much as possible with large apertures. Even then, bare chain link fences are the pits.

Glad to hear you like the action! While it would have been hard to move the entire match just for me :cool: you're definitely right about 2. Some were shot with a 300mm lens, but it was a pretty slow zoom (a lot of the shots are at f/8...). Thanks for the C&C!
