SilverHCIC - Thanks for this post. Robert (TMR Design) directed me to this thread because I thought the numbers were confusing. Now, thanks to Tetrode, I understand how the power levels add up. The more I examine the relationship between the numbers and the power output, the more impressed I am that the number scale makes a lot of sense. Much more so, than if I had strobes that were equipped with knobs that ranged from 0 to 10. --- There's no way I could even guess what the combined power would be if I positioned a pair of such strobes side by side with both dials set to "6" or any other number.

So why don't all strobe manufacturers use this power scale? It seems rather ingenious to me.
