I was looking at getting some ND filters and saw a three pack on Amazon for around $45. I just wanted to try these out and didn't want to spend a lot of money on them. Has anyone ever used the Dolica ND filters? The three pack I saw had .3, .6, and .9ND filters in them. Does anyone know if those numbers are actual stop (i.e., the .3=3 stops, the .9=9 stops).

Are there any other ones (inexpensive) out there that someone can recommend over these? Especially if they aren't really 9 stops.

If you want to try it out they are perfect. If you want to use them on the day to day basis you should pick up something that at least is coated.

They do the trick. Not great, bad with flare, but for things like water they are just fine. I actually stack all 3 routinely with waterfalls and still manage a sharp shot (tripod and at f/13 doesn't hurt either...)

You get what you pay for - there are better filters out there

Thanks for the info everyone. I didn't realize these weren't coated lenses. I guess that is why they are so cheap. I should have known.

Thanks for the link V-Wiz. I think I'll just get the B+W ND filters. I'll spend a little more, but will save money by not getting the cheap ones.
