Thanks Ace!

Midnight, I felt the strong urge for a full frame. I loved the T3i. It's a great all around camera, but I want to do some serious night NYC skyline shots and the added ISO on the 5DII is something that I needed. I wish I could of kept the T3i to use on occasion, but I really needed the money to help fund my new purchase.

Good luck to you then; you need to share some sample shots and the obligatory camera porn! :)

Were these taken with the 24 - 105, and do you recommend this lens? I'm becomg disillusioned with my shots in poor light with the kit lens, and wondering if new glass will help.

Thanks

Just my two cents, but the 24-105 is an F4 lens, so it is really not much faster than the kit lens. And at its widest the kit lens is slightly faster. Nifty fifty is very fast...

Well, I needed a shorter zoom lens than what I had in my collection for an event I was going to shoot. I was actually looking for a 28-135 (due to budget constraints) but a pro buddy of mine had this L lens for sale really "cheap" (no L lens is really cheap) so I bit the bullet and grabbed it from him. I really like it. It's a keeper no matter what body I move up to, but my objective for it was for a walkaround lens and not necessarily for indoor shooting. I think for indoors a faster lens would be better.

I will however give the L lens credit for these indoor photos, although I mostly used some fill flash...

Thanks - I don't do much indoor shooting - well none really since I bought this camera. I was reading a list of recommended landscape lens and this seemed to fit the bill of those I could afford.

Midnightrook - yes I have the nifty fifty and have it on the camera currently - but I can't always move sufficiently far away to shoot what I want due to geographical or building constraints etc. Will keep thinking.

Thanks
