I LOVE this picture... It feels so... alive, if that makes sense. Like you truly captured a perfect moment in time.

Hi. I'm Mona, and this is my gear:

Canon Rebel T3i with kit lens (18-55); Canon 50mm 1.8 (Nifty Fifty, indeed!); Tamron 17-50 2.8 (non-VC); Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 II DC OS.
Canon G12

I'm just starting out, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

This is a fantastic shot. Apart from the perfection in focus and color, the spontaneity and playfulness it conveys is great!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Love this shot! Not only is the action great but the building has this look like it's just trying so hard to be in focus as well, almost straining (if that makes any sense). Wonderful work!

Thank you all! Here is one more, taken at the Albuquerque Balloon festival.

T3i/18-55 kit lens. Taken at 7am, so the sky was still a bit gray. I'll post some balloon photos later.

BTW, this was handheld at 1/13 sec, so pretty proud of it if I do say so myself... :D

Thats SHARP for 1/13!

Here you go Jen. If you want to send any shots you get that you love, ill edit them for you, but email them to me if you can at oshpennyphotography@yahoo.com (external link) because even though I am working in layers, its still better to start off with a better quality photo. Straight out the camera if possible :)

But I edited it in color first, then turned it black and white, tweaked the RBG scale until I got the tones I wanted, and dodged and burned the rest until it suited me. I also took out the stuff behind her as it was distracting. I ran sharpen edges on a duplicate layer at 40%, which made everything pop nicely. I smoothed out her skin, and corrected the bright spots of face. Hope you like it.

I can dig it.

Me, I forgot all about proper breathing, squeeze (not pull), and keep it all tucked in and tight many years ago. Maybe its time for me to get my dimes and washers and get to practicing again.

Wow, exceptional level of clarity and detail! The 2nd locomotive photo almost looks like HDR, the details are so awesome!

All spring I've thought about blossom and how best to capture it, and apart from an abortive attempt early on haven't done anything about it. Now there's leaves as well as blossom.

IMG_4652 trees and lines (external link) by roseyposey2009 (external link), on Flickr
Probably a crap image in so many ways with the sun and overblown areas, which I have tried to crop out - but I like it! I liked the sun on the trees at bottom right, and the lines and angles the trees and fences made.

I'm learning Lightroom and just begun playing with the sharpening tool. I personally think these are overdoen, but would be interested in comments. Thanks
