If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Ace, LOVE the macros! I recently got the 60mm f/2.8 Macro and have yet to achieve this level. Well done! Can I ask what were the specifics of taking those shots?

Thanks! It was pretty sunny today, so I cranked the ISO to 400 and adjusted the flash compensation to -2 to provide a little bit of fill-flash, so the pics are mainly natural lighting. I actually had more throw-aways today than keepers because it was constantly windy, I got lucky on a few shots.

Here is the basic exif:
Camera Canon EOS REBEL T3i
Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture f/11.0
Focal Length 200 mm
ISO Speed 400

I usually shoot f/18~f/20, but I was trying for the natural light look more than flash.

Very nice! Would you be willing to give some exposure details? Really nicely done- all of them.

Sure.. the EXIF data is in the photos. For the one you are interested, here it is:

33mm, f11, 1/500 sec, 400 ISO. Taken with the T3i and the 18-55mm kit lens. Post processing in Lightroom involved some tweaking for brightness and contrast, some sharpening and noise reduction and lens correction.

Thanks for the info. Did you use the built in flash or off-camera? My aperature is usually around f/11 but seems like my DOF is always too shallow. Going smaller makes it too dark and using fill flash makes it look like I used a flash. I know macro is it's own beast to master but I have yet to get something I feel is worthy....close...but just not quite there, know what I mean?

Another shoot in the morning, heading to bed, thought Id share this one. Really enjoying the t3i, it never fails me, and always takes a great photo.
