This is my first DLSR. This forum is teaching me a whole new language. I have a background of shooting a fully manual Nikon F2 back in the day and spending many hours in the darkroom almost exclusively black and white. I have been using the little point and shoot digital cameras for the last few years and got tired of their lack of flexibility.

Just wanted to say thanks guys for your indirect help and I will be lurking and learning.

Oh yeah, this is about the third shot with my Canon 3Ti just walking around the house....Kitty got in the way and became my victim. The shot is not really special but I was blown away by what this camera will do.

Nice shot! Better post a small copy of the shots you make as image and you then can link to them as well. The way you try it will not work...
To do so, follow these simple steps:
1. Right click on the image loaded in picasa and copy the URL to the loaded image. In your case, that would be:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B96CrjSsInI/TshoREXyKpI/AAAAAAAABqI/c4vWuDPbyEs/s720/touch%252520kitty.jpg

Picasa has a script that detects monitor resolution and tries to adjust to that resolution, when an image is opened. In the above link you can see:
/s720/
That's the resolution picasa detects for my laptop. You can change that value to anything more upto 1024 for this forum, because values above will stretch the pages.

2. After you adjust the above img-Url, insert it with IMG tags, or you can add the link to picasa as well like this:

IMAGE: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B96CrjSsInI/TshoREXyKpI/AAAAAAAABqI/c4vWuDPbyEs/s1024/touch%252520kitty.jpg
IMAGE LINK: https://picasaweb.google.com …LJuOCg2U4?feat=directlink (external link)

The embedding code would be:
[URL="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-aJEHesDrmfh4xKREns28OPmTpKv8TV9CVLJuOCg2U4?feat=directlink"][IMG]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B96CrjSsInI/TshoREXyKpI/AAAAAAAABqI/c4vWuDPbyEs/s1024/touch%252520kitty.jpg[/IMG][/URL]

handheld - one from the amphibian and reptiles section: (lighting was bad, no flash and was carrying the 18-200 canon only - added there was a dirty layer of glass in between).

You are welcome... It did took me some time to figure this out on my own, so I am glad the info can help other picasa users...

Here a shot from today...
I am not sure if that is the exact name of that bird in English, but it has to be a female blackbird - a very common one. Only the male birds are black though...

beautiful picture - smooth bokeh. Same camera - but a poorer lens (18-200) got me this horrible bokeh.

Thank you! The bokeh of your image can be improved with post processing...I have not post processed my image, because it was not necessary in my case.

If you allow me, here is an example of post processing. It may be lighter or darker I have cropped it a little to get rid of some very dark parts of the bokeh. I do not know if this is of any improvment to you, but this is just an example how you may deal with some parts of your image, that you do not like...I have used for this one Light Room 3

thanks boss - this has come out well. Need to pick up some PS points quickly - my experience with PS has been limited to 3 weeks only - self learning for a hobby takes time.
