Ok so My focal point was somehow off to the left when I hit that. Is it just best to keep it in the center or on all of the focal points? I wont remember to change that at this point.

Also.....opinions on speedlights? Do you use them or not?

Awesome shots, DJ! I keep looking, but I can't find any Herons or Cranes, or anything 'big' around here :(

DJ,
They are very nice shots.
Just wondering, is there anyway to figure out % of crop applied for the pictures posted here.

Love those shots DJ.

Lisa, what Lens were you using when you tried focusing? See if the problem still happens when you try the other 2.
Make sure your lens is still on AF. In both Manual and AV your lens should still autofocus

I had the 55-250 on. It was still set on AF. Im hoping it was my focal point. Ugh Haven't been back outside. Had to clean and all that stupid inside stuff to make it look like I did something all day

I love the bird shots, too (obviously, lol), took this as the sun was just coming up:

Nice - must sort out some sort of feeder for the birds that the cat can't access.

Ok I seem to be having some issues. (no smart comments there) I went outside with the dog and was just randomly taking some pics to figure out settings and all in Manual and it seems like my lens wont auto focus to where it needs to. Have I hit something or is there something I can check? I noticed this with the 50 too.:(

Is the light poor? I've had that with low light or contrast.
