Thanks for the replies everyone and the example Dutch. That pic looks amazing.
The only filters I have used so far are my UV filters. I have the GND and Polarizing filters but have'nt even tried using them yet

Gives it kind of that eary look somehow. That Bluejay shot looks great too Ya know, it was funny...I kept looking at that patch of trees thinking how much I liked the scene. After about 20 minutes I finally snapped a couple pics of them. When I started touching it up, I was going for a dark & dreary look. One thing led to another and that's what I ended up with. The other pic of the same scene got the dark & dreary treatment, but I don't like it as much:

Everything still comes out looking really nice. I tried messing with water drops just for the heck of it. It focuses great on the bowl itself but as soon as I hit a water drop to the bowl it turns out really blurry. The lens also seems to go right past the perfect focusing point like it's still searching for the right focus on AF. You know why it does that? Start dripping the water, then put a pencil or something in the water where the drops are hitting. Use manual focus, and focus on the area where the pencil & water meet...remove pencil and snap away!! Also, you must use a tripod to maintain accuracy.

Feb 25, 2013 21:23 | #6279 Sounds like a plan. I was shooting in manual. You have any idea though why in AF it passes right by the perfect focus like it's still searching? This is one wild Lens lol Shooting photos never killed anyone,
