Nice shots Ace and Rosey. I'll be glad when everything greens up around here so I'll have some better landscape to shoot.
Rosey what brand bike do you ride I can't make out the name in the picture? I ride a Specialized Crosstrail and it kinda looks like yours. Also do you carry your camera gear in a backpack or what?

Thanks george. Yes it's a Specialized Crosstrail - great bike. I hadn't ridden since I was a kid and tried out all sorts including the sensible ones for middle aged ladies (which I am) but kept coming back to this. I mostly use a little back pack as only take two lenses mostly, just one lately, and sometimes the gorillapod on overcast days. I also have a basket but don't like the weight on the front wheel, so am thinking of getting a carrier so I can take my big tripod, but don't cycle when it's cold though.

Yeah I here you on the cold weather, winters aren't that cold down here but I have only road once in the last few months. It's warming up now so will be back at it every morning before work. I also like to go to the state park on weekends and have been trying to deside on the best way to carry my stuff. I think I'll go with a backpack. Your right the crosstrail is a great bike.

I think the question is Wolf - is nude photography/boudoir/portrait photography something you would be interested in? At the end of the day it is art and not about a roll in the hay.

If it's something you really want to do as a photographer to broaden your scope, I would speak to the wife about it. Even if you decide not to do it, you should probably at least mention it to her. This way she will know you aren't hiding anything and aren't using it as a ruse and if the opportunity presents itself again, she might be more receptive to it. Then again, you know her better than anyone and if you think it'll cause an argument, avoid it at all costs.

As far as the work thing goes, I would assume you would have a pretty strong lawsuit on your hands if you were terminated for doing something outside of/not associated with work. Then again, I don't have a "normal" job and I'm not a lawyer so don't take my word as gospel :p

P.S. I forget who mentioned it but it was a great idea to offer to include your wife as your helper, should you decide/get permission to do the shoot.

Nice shots again Jed!!

Wolf......whats your opinion on the filter?

Seth....of course he is interested in it lol but maybe his wife...not so much haha jk Boudoir photos are a big thing around here. Women are paying a pretty penny for them. I see them more for a girls night out type of thing where the photographer has a few at a time. Know LOTS of people who have done that.

Lisa,
I'm taking a liking to the filter. The one I have is a Tiffen Graduated Neutral Density filter. Half the glass is dark to bring out the colors and the other half works mainly as UV. You can turn the filter so the dark half is on top for bluer skies or to the bottom like I did for that Blujay

Do you always shoot full manual?

I mostly do Av mode, without auto iso, usually M is really not that necessary, unless you are going for a really different setting. Or, for me, when shooting with the camera flash.

The sky had been clear then started to become overcast and think thats why the color is so weird.

Demazi.... I have been just shooting manual to try to get a better grasp on what my settings should be. I'm.pretty new to this and trying to figure it all out.

George....the bird is the focal point so I think its great regardless! It took me five different settings the other day to get the sky to actually look like what I was seeing on the camera!
