You can pretty much freeze a hummingbird's wings at 1/1000 or so, and they flap @ 55/second. If you mean the pic is still too bright shooting at 1/4000, you can always use filters, such as a Big Stopper. I tried taking some pics during day with f/1.4. Other problem is with HTP which pushes ISO to 200. Even stopping down to 2.8 is not enough with 1/4000 shutter speed in bright day light. Canon RP with 24-240mm
