The ND400 is equivalent to a 9 stop filter. Hoya labels it's filters a little differently than other manufacturers, they use a math formula, and I found this web page to explain that. But even with that, it doesn't explain the 400 label formula, at least not to me. The important thing is it's the darkest filter they make. StillCrazy - after all these years.

I think their ND filters are pretty good though. Need to get a few. Paul

I rarely use layers and all the in depth photoshop stuff, but when I need it, it's there in gimp. It's a pretty amazing program for being free. And from what I can tell it's free, free. Not shareware, adware, etc. -Seth

What about this speedlight for a cheaper version to try out http://www.amazon.com …peedlight+flash+for+canon The filters you listed may be cheap, but will likely degrade your IQ. With any type of filter, you need to buy quality to get decent results. StillCrazy - after all these years.

With any type of filter, you need to buy quality to get decent results. I'm not an expert on flash, I have a Vivitar that I've had from my film days, so keep that in mind. The Yongnuo you listed is a manual flash, I believe. It is used as a second slave flash along with this one from the same manufacturer. It is an ETTL type. http://www.amazon.com …Flash-Canon/dp/B005HYMUX4 I'm considering buy it also, but I may decide to go for a Canon 430EX. There's a used one listed here in the Sell section, you should check it out. Oh this is confusing LOL SO the one i listed isn't one to use on the hot shoe by itself? I just want something for inside to try out and play with. So there is a difference between the one I listed and then the one you linked in what way? Thanks for your help! *Lisa*

The 565EX will communicate with the camera for optimum flash settings, for each shot. The 560 is manual, so you'll need to make the settings yourself. It will work on your hotshoe, but only manual settings. You really don't want to bother with that, and an ETTL flash is what you want to use. When you need a second flash to operate remotely, the 560 will do. StillCrazy - after all these years.
