Look at the Sigma 10-20, Tokina 11-16, Canon 10-22, or for a prime lens, the Rokinon/Samyang 14. The Sigma 10-20 comes in f/4-5.6, and f/3.5. If you don't need a fast lens, the f/4 will save you some money. I don't own the Tokina, but there are many here that rave about it.

Will check those out, thanks! Should've mentioned I will be using this lens for quick portraits of my girlfriend along the way. Don't think I'd like to go as wide at 10mm. Looking for a focal range similar to that of a kit lens, just with better image quality, sharpness, color etc...

Thanks!

16-35Lis a great lens, but not really wide angle on a crop sensor.. Tokina 11-16 is great... Be careful taking portraits with a wide angle lens.. Your girlfriend might not enjoy the distortion :)

Yea, which is why on the long end the 16-35L would be a bit better for a *quick portraits I think. Ideally I'd use something like a 24-70mm on a full frame, but I don't like traveling with too much gear.
Also considered 17-40L, but I haven't read good reviews for that glass.

Can anyone recommend good wide angle glass to put on my T3i?

Traveling in a month and considering renting a 16-35L for the trip.... Good?
Want to get some good landscape/cityscape shots.

I absolutely LOVE the 15~85mm! If I wasn't shooting macro or with my 100~400mmL, that was all I used since I got it. I can't say enough good things about it!

I like the 10-22mm. Not perfect when it is wide open, but absolutely crystal-clear shots. And a steal when compared to L glass.

AR15, I have the 17-40L and it is a really great piece of glass. On the T3i it is not the widest lens, but for what it does, it does really well.

If I had the money for the 16-35 I don't know which I would choose between the 17-40 and the 16-35. I really love the look that my 17-40 produces and I guess being there are both L glass, I don't know that I would spend the extra just for the extra 1mm. Yes I think the images on the 16-35 do look amazing, but so do the ones on the 17-40. Maybe I would just buy the new 6D body I want and keep the 17-40. LOL

Oh trust me, I rather not spend the $$ on any of those lol, that's why I'm using borrowlenses. I'd rather invest my $$$ in a prime!
