Paul, the Nikon looks good, the specs and price are very much in line, and the tilt-LCD pretty well seals the deal for me. It may be time for full frame. But after MANY years in retail, hopefully giving good service and advice to my customers, I cannot (will not?) go in and take time knowing I won't buy. Maybe I'll just contact them, tell them my concern, see how close they are willing to come, then decide if I can buy there. There's always a chance they will understand where I'm coming from. I have a strong feeling that they offer a better price to some of their clientele. If I can unlock the secret, great. If not, B&H has always treated me well for large and small purchases (Adorama too, for that matter). But I'd like local if I can...

I understand your sensibility toward the retailer.

The 750 is really a good compromise for an all in one body. It's amazing bang for the buck quotient is quite compelling.

I'm actually toying with the idea of keeping my 7D, and a long lens, for birds and using the 750 for everything else. :)

Nice pictures everyone. I have a question, I'm pretty anal about my camera and lenses and they are always in the bag when not in use. But how many of you always put your camera back in the bag, or do you just leave it out for the everyday house dust to get on it. Or am I just crazy. Lol

Haha, I must be crazy too! Camera is always in the bag, with the lenses. I work in a very dusty environment, so I only take my stuff if I know there's going to be good light or I have seen something in my travels that I want to shoot. I'm always missing shots because I don't have my camera with, but I hate to throw it in the truck and have it get all dusty. Its a Canon case and doesn't have a zipper or Velcro closure, so dust can sift in. Gonna have to spend some money on a "good" bag I guess.

I'm the opposite, I don't even take my bag 90% of the time. I actually just have my camera laying on the floor of my backseat with a 24-105mm on it. In my defense, though, I work for a fire department, and every second counts.

Yeah, I'm with Ace on this one.. My camera is sitting on the passenger seat with a 50mm lens attached to it.. On my defense... Well there is none, I just pick up the camera all the time and don't want to take it out of a bag all the time.

Early morning on Saturday, pushing my T3i to its limits: ISO 6400, and a 75-300 that is only OK in quality (the replacement is on Back Order, no delivery date yet). But even so, it's a good little camera.
