I was actually going to discard this one - I'm not sure what I didn't like previously... Too close, or too far from the Rose..?..? I love the colors, but that's not the sole reason to like a photograph. I just had a hard time with the composition, but since I've been looking at it for a while ( A small print now hangs from my monitor - something I do quite often when I'm undecided ), I've now come to really appreciate it for whatever it is...

Any opinions to share?

thanks,

Rick

If there was more to the flower on the right and a clone-out of the red corner, it would be quite nice but cut off the way it is....not a winner for me.

i think it would be great if you can get rid of all the other things beside the big flower. the colours have enough of a contrast but it is subtle enough to make it look delicate.

i am surprisingly catlike

I would really like this image if you had the entire flower in it - the cut-off petals leave me wanting to see the entire thing, especially with the great lighting you have going on.

As it stands, a severe crop would help a lot - try cropping in a square format and capture just the rose - no background, no red corner, clip the edges of the top petals. If you're going to cut part of the image off anyway, try make it look slightly abstract. Those three main petals in the light would make an interesting abstract.
