He crossed the road in front of us and posed long enough for me to change my lens six times and switch batteries once. I'm glad he took his time because the sunset was developing a nice pink glow. The sky in the second brings out the fantastic sunset. I rather like the silhouette feel for the elk, though I wonder if there was enough exposure so that slightly brightening the 3rd image would bring out the elk's coat. Harold

Sep 30, 2005 14:15 | #4 Thanks for the input guys. I have about 15 photos of this elk on my hard drive. These three were my favorites. I had enough time to try lots of different shots. I used my 17-40, 50 mm, and 100-400 when photographing this guy. I wanted to get as much of the sunset as possible, but still keep the elk as the main subject in the photo. I think #1 does that best.
