Looking for some feedback and advice for indoor rock climbing photos. I took these images last Saturday with an off camera flash on a short leash. I just got wireless triggers today so I am looking for some advice on what I could do better. I think I need softer light and maybe better fill. I did some PP on these to try and help some of the lighting issues.

Please excuse using a link, I am unable to figure out how to embed an image from picasa. The link is to the album with 7 pictures in it. Thank You.

I can only seem to get thumbnail size images, hopefully this will give you some reason to click the link to see the full size.

I didn't click any of the links, so it's difficult to critique the images. #3 is my favorite, but It would be really nice if the subject was looking at the camera. The background color is eye catching and the composition works pretty well.

#1 - the subject's body disappears into the dark space created by the wall - next time try to get the subject to at least turn their head so that you get a little bit better light and definition. That kind of shadow can lend itself to some really dramatic images, so play around with it next time and see what you get.

#2. - reminds me of a kid dangling off the monkey bars on a playground - not especially flattering, and not really a good representation of the activity. Consider converting shots with splatches of color like this into black and white - that helps the focus stay on the subject and not the various handholds and such.

#4. Slightly disturbing. I have no idea what this is, but it's odd enough to catch my attention and make me wonder. The composition isn't helping it though, especially the bright blue V and the label. Perhaps consider cropping this in so that you get a closeup of the face and eliminate the distracting background and label.

I don't see any rocks? the flash looks a little harsh. Try to soften it up a bit and try to create some sort of connection between your subject and your audience.

Thanks for the input. #4 is actually a handhold. Some of the designs are kinda crazy, this one is a giant pumpkin. The "Blue V" represents that the climber should follow a blue route and start on this hold with both hands, the label bellow it is the name and difficulty.

I would dial back the flash a bit, or bounce off of wall or ceiling. The composition on 3 is better than others. Try to watch where the light falls off, and the shadows the flash creates. Keep shooting though
