That's beautiful Don! Mine isn't quite that nice, but here goes! (It got a little grainy when I reduced the size... sorry!) BTW.. this is a repost.

Yeah, both shots are wonderful. Not sure mine measure up.

Sorry, just posted this in Lighthouses, but it's the only shot I've ever done of a moon pretty low in the sky.

Remembered I shot something cool 2 weeks ago on my holiday.

Mt Cook region
Full moon at 9:30pm
Sunset was before 6:30, although it was dark much earlier, as we're next to 3000metre high mountains.
(Shot was taken in complete darkness, except the subtle light being reflected off the moon).
I could see a long exposure would make something neat, so did the maximum I could at 30 sec. WIsh I had a remote trigger, and used Bulb mode for an even longer exposure. Amazed at all the colours came out from darkness.

Here is one I caught a couple years ago. Not the best moon shot in the world but it's what I have right now.

This first one was one of the coolest moons Ive ever seen. It actually casted a huge moon-beam and you could see it from all over town! We drove around chasing it until we found a place to pull over and take a quick shot.

Not sure if it's a moonrise or moonset, I took it at dawn right before the sun came up.
