Would the Canon 380EX work ok with my 40D , i dont want anything fancy i would just set my camera to P mode for taking the grand children indoors thank you...Ray

I used it on my 40D at the time and it worked for me, please note it's a full manual flash and doesn't have ETTL. At the very least I would look at a 430 EXII instead.

Mark Ive just found a review on the 380 and this bit says it is ETTL
