Just opened my new 135cm Elinchrom Octa and have spent far too long trying to assemble it! There are no instructions that came with it and I just can't work it out. Anyone able to advise me?

I will wait for others responses but I just use my foot and step on the ring while pushing the last rod in position. But mine is used so it's pretty loosen.

The process has been described a few times in the big Elinchrom thread but it would take a while to find it.

Basically:
- The parts on the speedring where the rods attach are designed so you pull them out then fold them forward. The rods are much easier to get in place when these are folded forward.
- Once the rods are inserted you never need to remove the rods unless you are replacing a damaged part. Just fold it up like an umbrella them stick it in the storage bag.
- Most people find it easiest to open and close the box by holding it over your head with your head and shoulders inside the box.
- After an initial break-in period (and as you get more experience with them) they are much easier to open and close.

I recently purchased a used 53" on eBay and didn't receive a storage bag. Is every Elinchrom modifier supplied with a storage bag ?

My 3 modifiers all came with bags.

Elinchrom modifiers sold by Ebay dealers in India often do not include the bags.
