So, anyone know the answer? If it won't, can anyone offer an alternative that will fire both my 580EXIIs and my two Nikon Sb-24s and provide focus assistance? The purpose I need this for is when using my Lastolite HiLite as a photo booth at wedding receptions when the surroundings are dark.

Short answer, No. The St-e2 is Canon specific. There are work arounds though. I use my St-e2 at night and have it mounted in the hot shoe. Then I have my CST plugged in the sync port on the cam and velcroed to the st-e2. Ghetto, but it works great.

Ok, so I could have the ST-E2 on the camera to fire my 2 580EXIIs that are on stands with umbrellas camera left and right, then have a PW II plugged in & find a way to attach it to the ST E-2 to fire the SB 24s that are lighting the inside of the HiLite. Sound right?

Without modification to the st-e2, the PW will plug into the sync port on the side of the camera. There is a company (forgot the name) that will mod the ST-e2 and put a hot shoe on top of it. but a small cord and velcro work great for the limited time this set up is used.

My ST-E2 won't fire my Nikon SB-28 so I doubt it will fire your SB-24.

The easiest would be to change out the SB-24's, rent some more speedlites.

Will the ST-E2 fire older Canon speedlights? I could sell the 2 SB-24s & get a couple of older Canons, I guess.

I know it will fire 550's and 430's.
