Yesterday night my beloved (not so much) lens has decided to suicide itself.
First it had its focus ring stiff stuck between infinite and 0,8m and couldn't reach its minimun focusing distance.
Secondly, the focus ring itself stiffened to death and while turning it you could see the zoom ring following it as well (WTF?) .
Then i decided to open it and the cable that connects the zoom and focus reader to the cpu snapped and broke.
Now i am staring at my 700gr brick conscious that it is unusable this way (all of this for a cable) and knowing of that usual focus problem too.
So, does anybody know if i can find this cable on some site so i can try to repair this mess.
I don't want to have it serviced as it would surely cost as much as i paid for it.
A couple of pics are coming, hang on a second.

Sounds more like you murdered it rather than it committing suicide ;)

IMHO: I would have sent it in for Sigma Service

I can find one for 250€ so there's no point sending it to Ad-service (admitting it would come back good as new) .
I can't even know what's the amount of the repair until they bill me for the service.

It never worked properly, starting from AF and ending to this focus ring issue.
It was a nightmare at 70 f/2.8, i should have never bought it.

Does anybody know where i can find spare parts for sigma's lenses?
In Europe, preferably.

I contacted Sigma U.K. and they answered back about my spare part.
They said the part can only be sent in the U.K. and, luckily, i have a friend of mine which can receive the package for me.
The strange thing is the way i am supposed to pay for it.
They are asking me to send them all of my CC data including the security code.
I mean, are they kidding me?
Has anybody ever got in touch via mail with one of them?

I have the Sigma 24-70 and like it, except for the filter size. For repair besides Sigma you might try a Google search for lens repair and give them a call. Some of them have a fix repair price so you will know up front how much it will cost.

Forget your sigma and go with the Tamron. I recently bought a Tamron 28-75mm before I swapped to Canon and it was pin sharp at all f/ stops. Very impressive lens for its cheap price.
