I inserted my Sandisk Ultra II in my new 20D and it is showing the picture count from my XT. How do you clear this and also add my name to the camera?

I'm pretty sure you already tried this, but I'll suggest it anyway. Did you try just formatting the card in the new camera?

Or if that doesn't work then go into the menu under "file numbering" and reset it.

Just make sure to set it back to "Continuous" after it's been reset. Otherwise, your file numbering will begin at 0001 again everytime you remove and reinsert the card.

You get to it with the camera on a USB cable. Use EOS Viewer Utility. Menu item Option.

Thanks Bob figured it out. Software from XT was conflicting with software for 20D. Had to delete all and re-install.

Sofware should be identical on both. We have both at work, ordered days apart, and they had .ver 10 solutions discs from factory.
