To resample or not to resample? I want to make some 4x6 prints. Without resampling i get something like 771ppi. Is this a problem, or do i really have to cut out information via resampling? If i really should resample, then why is that so?

The only reason you could have for doing it yourself is if you think you can do a better job (and as Tony said, 4x6 prints generally don't need to be museum quality) or for the sake of reducing upload time by having smaller files.
