For as much as this gear costs now I'm really surprised at the constant complaining about free shipping.

It is easy to make the argument the other way, too. As much money as you are paying, the seller can't pitch in $20-30 worth of shipping?

I get the frustration and if I knew of a reputable seller offering the same deal but with free shipping, I'd buy from them instead. Shipping counts in the total price of the item. In this case, I still think Adorama is the best deal for the 5Dmk2, paid shipping or not.

With the availability issues it's a seller's market. I'll go with free shipping for items other than lenses but I will only buy new bodies and lenses from a small group of authorized dealers including Adorama and B&H.

Hey, I do use Amazon. I bought 16 lbs. of cereal last week stocking up before that goes through the roof too. :D

he did say aftermarket battery...you can definitely get a couple batteries for $25...and to most people, myself included, that is enough

Crutchfield is a a great company, i ordered lots of audio equipment from them with no issue, they even have online chat so you dont forget anything u dont usually think of like proper cables and such...as a side note, in todays business world, there is no reason to ever pay for shipping because u can always find a retailer with free shipping

Yes, and not only that. For example, if you order an automobile head unit (receiver), their software first matches it to your car to make sure it fits. The unit is shipped free of charge, with a free installation kit and instructions, and free plugs to connect the unit to the wire harness in the car. Sometimes even the DIN tools to remove the existing units are provided free of charge, and you can call installation "support" on the telephone any time. Crutchfield has done this from the beginning years ago.

I use Amazon, too. The price is right, and the shipping is free, even to Alaska :)

It could be a lot more. For example, a PixmaPro9000 Mark II from B&H would have cost me over $100.00 for shipping to my home in Alaska. It's quite heavy and bulky :) I paid a little more for it at Crutchfield, but even so I saved a little over $60.00 because of the free shipping. I believe it would have been free shipping from Amazon, too.

We only price match to other equally reliable retailers, and use resellerratings.com as one of our guides......

I am going to look around here some more, unfortunately this area seems to be lacking when it comes to just about anything camera related. I looked online mainly to see what the availability is like. Was pretty shocked to see $50 for shipping! If I end up buying online I will definitely let you know.

We usually compare the 'out-of-10' rating of other retailers with our own, when considering whether to price match......http://cot.ag/dKT8IC (external link)
