I just ordered a 60D from Beachcamera , free shipping will let you guys know long it takes and how the whole process go. i tried ordering from Adorama but they didnt pricematch the shipping.

cant wait for my 60D!

Read my post earlier. Twice they didn't ship my item until the third business day and the other times I bought from them they shipped the second business day. I'll still deal with them but not if I'm in a hurry to get something.

i understand that, i am not in a hurry i can wait 2-3 days extra, if i was i would just use their overnight shipping or 3 day (which btw is still cheaper than B&H and Adorama) and using the coupon beachwarm30 you get additional $30 off, overall i saved about 48$ thats almost 5%. when you spending over $1000, you would think they at-least give you the shipping for free, specially when others are doing it,

as i said earlier its the first time i am dealing with beachcamera, so i let you guys know how it goes.

The bottom line is, we are going to be able to sell them without giving free shipping!

No offense to you Helen and as true as that is...don't you think you'd sell a whole lot more staying with free shipping on higher end items? Being a small community of people here, you can see that a few are already looking else where to shop. This coming from people that are true diehard Adorama and/or B&H shoppers. Now think about everyone outside of this forum that is feeling the same way. The bottom line is that Adorama and B&H are going to lose customers. Shipping is a big issue to some and now having to add $20 - $25 to something that has already risen 10% - 15% since February doesn't sit well...with me especially. It's truly a shame that it has to be this way too because I've spent a lot of money with Adorama/B&H over the years and have been very happy...up to this point. I'm now in the market for a 85L and instead of going to Adorama or B&H to make the purchase, I went to Google and searched for the best price. Newegg has it listed for $2089 with free 3 day select shipping. Who would one talk to in order to pass along this information and see if Adorama is willing to match it?

Complaints seem to drown out more sensible viewpoints from those of us who value reliability and safe shipping methods. Shipping isn't ever free, it's paid for one way or the other. Sometimes it is by using the very slow hybrid delivery services that use FedEx/UPS and the USPS, others by cheap packing methods that are not adequate protection for such delicate equipment. At this point in time retailers do not need to use free shipping to sell this gear, photo gear inventory is drying up.

They'd also sell more if they cut prices or threw in a free L lens with every camera purchased. That isn't the point. The point is low supply. Adorama and others have been in the camera biz for a while. They probably understand their end of it better than we do. When supply rises and there is more competition for a sale I bet we will see prices come down a bit and free shipping return. In the meantime consumers are free to Google every purchase and buy from the cheapest vendor if they so choose. Adorama does not seem to be threatened by that idea. I wouldn't be either if I were in their shoes.

You would email me with a links to the items!

NB We ARE still offering free shipping on many items, and we will price match unit cost and shipping cost to many other retailers. However, where there are or have been doubts about such a retailer we will not do so.

As to the price rises that we are currently seeing across the board, the likelihood is that smaller retailers are less affected. This is due to the complexity of the financial agreements between retailers and the manufacturers / distributors.

It isn’t a clear case that all the items on a retailer’s shelves - or in transit - are necessarily owned outright by us at the point of sale to the customer, which in turn means that the retailer won’t always have the flexibility to offer ‘free’ shipping (which we of course pay for) or to sell items at below MRSP. This is the main reason why MAP agreements are so very powerful.
