Improved IQ at 70mm and 24mm wideopen. I hate to say it, but Nikon's current 24-70 f2.8 beats the pants of Canon's at wide aperature. IS would be nice too.

5D, 5DmkII, a bunch of Canon glass and adapted manual primes

I voted "other"....

Leave it alone. Doesn't need IS or any optical/coating improvements. Keep it big, heavy and expensive so only pros will be willing to buy and use one.

In a new 24-70, I would like to see image quality performance equivalent to the Canon 24 TSE II.

Canon 6D, 1DmkII, IR modified 5DII with lots of Canon L, TSE and Zeiss ZE lenses

So only pros can buy expensive gear? Are you threatened that amateurs are sporting nice glass and DSLR's?

In reality, amatures are the ones that can usually afford new expensive glass as they havé disposable income from their 6 figure salaries while the photo pro are scrambling to find their next paying job.

Wish I had a 6 figure job :-P But if they added IS and improved the F/2.8
sharpness to match the performance of the 70-200 F/2.8 L IS II, I would
save up for one :-)

The one thing that would make it a killer lens for me - make it a 24-105mm f2.8L

Also IS would be nice, but not essential...

Critique is always appreciated - good or bad!
