Excellent shots.
I've been shooting competition dance for years. I know how tough the lighting is.

Those are nice!

That old school 1D classic still delivers the goods. Nice work!

@keshchar- the lighting was actually better than the theater I'm used to shooting in. I was able to shoot at 800 rather than 1600.

@hennie- I tried getting closer, but photography was not allowed in the venue and one of the judges could hear my shutter so he asked me to stop.

@alessandro- definitely wanted to drop some heads hahaha

@dfindr- Thanks man im really loving the 1D classic. I think its the perfect start up camera. I wish I would've went straight to the 1D rather than the XS.

I'll be at a dance competition this coming weekend. This one does not allow photography.
Most competitions that do not allow photography state that if you are caught and warned and do not cease the dance school you are with will have points deducted or be disqualified. So be careful, a few pictures aren't worth 30 to 50 pissed off dance moms! :)

Try to get some air pics...those are what I aim for...@ iso800 f2.8 1/250 you should be able to freeze them with good follow technique!!!

I'll post some pics from the competition I shot last month later tonight.
I shoot with a 40D & Canon 70-200 f2.8 non-IS almost exclusively. I can pretty much sit towards the back of the venue and still get good isolation.
