Travel to Montreal Lens???

I just got my sweet new 5D Mark 2 and now I need a lens. haha (classic)

I have a 50mm to take and I'm thinking of getting a zoom to go with it. What would you think compliments the 50mm in a city like Montreal Quebec?

The 24-105 f/4 kit lens.

agreed. I got the wife and I refurbed 24-105s from Canon for our 7Ds. Best walkaround lens I have found.

Unfortunately, on my last trip to Montreal, I didn't have a good camera. However, on a recent trip to San Francisco, I took my 24-70L with me and got some excellent shots with it. I think you'd do well with either the 24-105L or the 24-70L. If you're planning to go to places such as the Notre-Dame Cathederal where flash photography is prohibited, the extra stop from the 2.8 may be helpful.

You're going to love that city. It's so photogenic. You'll probably want to shoot wide if you climb up to the top of Mount Royal. The view up there is amazing.

24-105, for IS. You already have a 50, so you probably dont need the f2.8 of the 24-70.

I always make sure I take my 24-105L and my 10-20 on my Montreal trips from Ottawa. Both always get good use!
