Was wondering about this little add on for my 7D. Any recommendations or pro's and con's from users?

Works outdoors. Takes up as much space as a small lens. The small zipper case is too easy to pop off your belt.

Works great in the sun. Typically I just hang it on a lanyard and wear it. Otherwise it would be a hassle to deal with imo. It is really helpful if you're shooting from a tripod doing manual focusing using live view. It's a worthy accessory for me.

Take a look at LCDVF, it's a better product esp. if you shoot video.

If you get the Hoodman loupe for video, definitely get the Redrock MicroFinder loupe accessory kit.
It's the best method of attaching the Hoodman to the camera.

It's held in place by any tripod QR plate, so it takes as long as it takes you to unscrew the plate.
It is sandwich between the tripod QR and base of the camera.

When I got mine it came with 2 holding plates, one designed for the 7d and one for the 5D Mark II.
I have haven't tried sandwiching it between a battery grip and the body, but I think it will prevent the grip from connecting electrically.

You don't normally use a grip with loupe, I wouldn't normally video in portrait mode.
The extra weight of the makes the camera a little more difficult to hold.

You know that with LCDVF magnetic frame you just snap it on and off, takes a second or less.

i saw that.....pretty sweet. Might need to wait and save a tad more for this. Makes sense though. I like my grip and mainly use it for battery storage and comfort. I would not shoot video in portrait either.
