I am trying to add my watermark to a folder containing about 200 jpeg images. It would take too long to have to open each one up and add the logo, then save each one.

I use a brush preset that I made as my watermark, I just select the brush and click the spot on the photo I want it. Now the problem is, when I try to make an action for this by hit action-record PS does not record me clicking the brush tool nor clicking it on the image so when I run the action, nothing happens at all.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Use the brush as a shape.

I use some Russel Brown scripts for most of my action sets in CS5, i recommend you take a look.

If you scroll down you see there is a script for watermarking.

I have used this Russell Brown video (external link) as the basis for the starting point for my identity action. I have taken it a bit further and added some other elements to the image such as PROOF in the middle and some edging for presentation. All of these can be turned on/off in the action. I find that working with paths gives excellent results and the ultimate control. I have run my action against folders with over 500 images in it and am able to walk away from it and come back when it is done. It really does provide an easy way to get your identity on the image with a minimum of time at the keyboard.

Another quick way to accomplish this is to create your logo/text and save in a psd or png file and use the file place command and then use the alignment commands to get them where you want them. An action like this could be as short as 10 lines.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
