Hello all,
Don't really do too many people/portrait shots and feel like I need to start doing A LOT more to get better at this. I especially want to learn/improve lighting with flashes and strobes. This was kind of a spontaneous jump shot at our hotel room in the Vdara, Las Vegas before we went out and hit it hard!
I just used a 580 on camera bounced directly overhead on the ceiling and then boosted brightness a bit in post. Is this any good or too "flash-lit" looking?

It may just be me, but I'd rather see it all focused. The gradient focus trips me out. I can't say that I've ever seen that before.

Thanks! Yea I used a 24mm Tilt Shift and tilted it a bit to get the blur, I usually like it for taking "lifestyle" shots but wasn't sure about it in this scenario

The tilt-shift lens doesn't work for me at all here. I think the shot would have looked nice had it all been in focus!
