Good evening folks, hope all is well with each of you. I have a small need for a State Trooper friend of mine that I promised him I would present to the forum to gain insight on a lens need.
My friend has a NiconD50 that he uses for evidence collection and needs a good walk around lens that is versatile for both macro and other walk around shots. I just can’t see that using a macro lens in the field and having to swap around with other lens would be very practical.
Below is a copy of a reply when I asked him about what the typical forms of images he needs so that it may help find a good suggestion.

We generally collect generic evidence pics from around the vehicle and outside the car, of the person themselves etc. Sometime I want small things, like scaring on bolts, pictures of driver’s licenses and registration (no copier roadside), anything like that..and money is a factor. Used does not bother me”

Any help you guys could offer will be appreciated.
